I would like to take a moment to say something.

I have suspected this for a while, but would like to make an official statement.

Ahem.

Blue Sky Studios is the BEST. FREAKING. ANIMATION. STUDIO. ON. THE. PLANET.

That is all.

Well.
Not quite.

Okay, so I just got back from Ice Age 3, and letmetellyou- it was worth EVERY. PENNY.

I'm serious. And I mean- I was WORRIED. Between critical critic reviews and the last ice age, well, sucking (in my opinion at least), I really was a bit nervous.

But still.
I mean, it wasn't like i wasn't going to go.

I mean, they made HORTON for pete's sakes- and you know....

*cough*

...that's kinda been a hit with me, so.... ^^;

Anydangway.
Needless to say, the third installment? EXCELLENT.

Excellent animation (swift and quick and spring-y and stylized (basically my favorite kind).

Excellent sets (i know that sounds weird, but TRUST ME, the environment is JAW-DROPPING in scope and size and well....awesomeness).

Excellent return of old characters (sid and scratt were particular
favorites, once again).

And excellent, EXCELLENT inclusion of the newest character: H'omgCANWESAY, BUCK WILD?? :XD:

In all serious folks, go see this movie. For one thing, it blows the roof off of what previously have been technological limitations of animation. For another, it's FUNNY. I laughed. A lot. Particularly at Buck's lines. Which were amazing.

And you know what I loved MOST about the whole thing? (and blue sky movies in general?)

They're isolated.

The worlds that are created within their movies, though obviously open in terms of expansion potential (including the ability for fans to get creative with the universes and whoniverses ^^;), aren't weighed down by pop-culture references and limited connections to "the real world."

Not that I mind pop culture. I love a good kathy griffin joke.

But with seemingly EVERY animated movie trying to be the newest "Shrek", well....

...it's nice to have a movie whose world isn't affected by E! news :)
That's all I'm sayin'.

I'm so glad I saw it. :D
Please expect fanart.

OH.

And uh....

For those in the know?

Buck = Indiana Jones + Crocodile Hunter + Uncle Bob.

Just sayin'. ^^;

oh in-freakin-credible! I don't know where to start! why don't I just throw off some random things:

I got in the camera pit at mainstage and took some awesome pictures

I got Flatfoot 56's autographs

I walked around all week with the who cloveron my head (but you can't stand out much when a guy's walking aorund in a platypus costume)

The Imaginarium played two horribly bad movies Howard the Duck and Flash Gordon (but at least Flash was bad in a good way)

The Imaginarium also played Mr. Smith Goes To Washington (... I love James Stewart :blush: )

I got a print from The Imaginarium from Mr Smith movie (also found print from Gone With The Wind, thought of you)

Got a digital download card from the cool yet creepy Christian zombie punk band Grave Robber, which includes never released tracks such as a punk cover of Mr. Grinch (again, thought of you XD )

Street photography is NOT a photograph of an empty street, traffic lights or graffiti. If you want to find out what street photography is really about check out the The Yard Collective [link]
lol, my favorite part of this might be the fact that despite the seeming "come hither" look, he is in fact... BLUSHING :xd:

shave and a haircut...
I like the fact he still looks kind of grungy. :XD: Like with the messy hair and five o-clock shadow/whiskers. Seems more believable as a former Beast.

That, and the baggy clothes is just WIN. :lmao:

Oh no, it was the orphanage... for DOGS. IT WAS THE PUPPY ORPHANAGE, EVERYONE!!
lol, good point. :D

you know, it's funny. I never really minded how much he changed LOOKS wise (not that much anyway), but want i always really, REALLY got ticked about what that they CHANGED. HIS. VOICE. o_O

shave and a haircut...
Really?? :O_o: I thought that Robby Benson did the Beast's voice the ENTIRE time, all the way through. EVEN as the Prince.

yeah but....i swear it just sounds....different when he's all like, "belle...it's ME," like they played around with it digitally to make it sound higher or something...

...granted, i COULD just be crszy ^^; it's been known to happen ^^;
